Rhodhiss Video

In the heart of Rhodhiss, a small mill town in Burke County, stands Old Glory Mill — once a thriving textile hub where fabric for the American flag that flew on the moon was woven. Today, the mill is poised for a new chapter. With community determination, the Town of Rhodhiss and the Burke River Trail Association are working with development partners to transform this 1914 structure into a trail-connected downtown center. The plan includes 80 much-needed apartments, restaurants, retail, a rooftop event space, and riverfront recreation — a project designed to bring life, jobs, and pride back to the community.

This three-minute video shares the story behind Old Glory Mill, the people leading the effort, and why it matters for Rhodhiss and the entire region. You’ll hear from Beth Heile, BRTA Executive Director, Town Manager Rick Justice, and Representative Hugh Blackwell, who explain how this $28M project is more than bricks and mortar — it’s about creating a future where rural truly meets remarkable.
