Burke River Trail Association will talk about the history of the Grist Mill at McGalliard Falls Park and then take a half mile walk to the swinging bridge for a discussion on different types of bridges. Free event with BCPL, Valdese Rec Dept and Friends of the Valdese Rec

9:00am – Meet State Park Rangers and Lots More
Free for Kids (and adults, too)!! So much packed into one event – NC State Parks Ranger Brian Vick will read the book, “What do Rangers Do?” He will show fire gear, his law enforcement uniform and medical equipment used. Ranger Clay Veasey will cover plant and tree identification as we take a short hike. Burke River Trail Association will cover a craft (painting log slices) and snack. Teenagers – come learn about a career as a ranger. Adults learn about state parks and plant id!! There will be something for everyone. Meet at the Red Roof Pavilion just 0.2 mile down the Greenway – Valdese Lakeside Park

Look for us at the Valdese Waldensian Festival. We will be located in the Zimmerman Realty Parking lot (204 E Main St) with kid crafts, give aways and trail info. T-shirts for donations.
