Pints for Miles: Come Talk Trails at Highlands Butchery!

Thursday, November 19, 2026 | 5–9 PM | Highlands Butchery, Valdese

Raise a glass. Help build the trail!

Burke River Trail Association (BRTA) is teaming up with Highlands Butchery in Valdese for a special evening of community, conversation, and support for more trails in Burke County!

On Thursday, November 19, from 5–9 PM, Highlands Butchery will donate an incredible 50% of every pint of beer and glass of wine sold to help build more trail in Burke County.

And there’s a special bonus! The first customers purchasing a pint will receive a commemorative Burke River Trail pint glass to take home, while supplies last!

Come Talk Trails!

Have you been wondering where the Burke River Trail will go? What’s being built next? How the trail will connect your town to the rest of Burke County?

This is your chance to find out!

BRTA Executive Director Beth Heile will be at Highlands Butchery throughout the evening with maps, project updates, and information about the vision to connect nine Burke County towns through 40 miles of trail.

Stop by to:

  • See maps and plans for the 40-mile Burke River Trail.
  • Hear about current projects and what’s coming next across our nine towns.
  • Ask questions, share your ideas, and learn how to get involved.
  • Meet others who care about outdoor recreation and the future of Burke County.

No presentations, no formal meetings — just good conversations!

Whether you’re already a trail supporter, curious about a project near your home, or simply interested in making Burke County an even better place to live, we’d love to see you.

More Than a Trail

The Burke River Trail is about much more than constructing a 40-mile pedestrian corridor.

It’s about connecting communities, supporting local businesses, creating opportunities for outdoor recreation, and helping our nine towns thrive.

The physical trail is the backbone of a much bigger vision — and community partnerships like this one with Highlands Butchery help bring that vision to life.

Make an Evening of It!

Come early for a chance to get a commemorative BRT pint glass, visit with Beth, and stay for dinner from Highlands Butchery’s farm-to-table kitchen.

You don’t have to purchase anything to stop by and talk trails. Everyone interested in learning more about the Burke River Trail is welcome!
