The Burke River Trail Association is proud to announce that the Mull Foundation has awarded funding to support furnishings for the new Glen Alpine Downtown Park. This $9,000 investment helps bring to life a space designed for connection and belonging — a place where residents can rest, gather, share a meal, or enjoy community events. As the western trailhead of the Burke River Trail, the park includes restrooms, parking, a picnic shelter, and open green space, and the Mull Foundation’s support will provided the tables and benches that activate the shelter for both casual use and organized programming. Local businesses benefit from the added foot traffic the park brings.
We are deeply grateful to the Mull Foundation for recognizing the potential of this small town and investing in a project that strengthens connection, community pride, and revitalization. Their support — alongside the generosity of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church and many local donors — ensures that this new park becomes not just a public space, but a true catalyst for Glen Alpine’s future.
