Long View was officially incorporated in 1907, its name inspired by a remark about the “long view” down the railroad tracks toward Hickory — a perspective that still fits today. Spanning both Catawba and Burke counties, Long View has grown into a diverse and vibrant community shaped by transportation, commerce, and neighborhood pride. With major corridors like US 70 and Interstate 40 running through town, Long View offers convenient access to surrounding cities while maintaining its own distinct identity. Rooted in responsible governance and community values, Long View continues to focus on enhancing quality of life, supporting local businesses, and creating opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
